Ickypoopy, chris, and I all had a day off last friday, so they invited me to tag along as they frequent their regular steak house. Acropolis. I had never been .

We just arrived home last night from a mini work vacay.
Sweet D had some group home work from a marketing class that she had to get done. The subject of their work just happens to be in seaside oregon so we decided to head up there a day early and have some time together.
Her group mate has connection with rooms and rates so we stayed in the Sandy Cove Inn.
The weather was clear but cold. It rained as to be expected in oregon this time of year, my camera got wet and all the pics that i took did not show up on the sd card. I hope the fuji is still operational. this could have been her last go round. ...time will tell.
Sweet D and I had a great time, we had awsome recommendations from the desk staff at the sandy cove, so although it wasnt the ideal beach getaway we still enjoyed our time together.

Everyone has an opinion of what is going on over there but that opinion should at least partially come from having been down there and it should involve speaking with the people and hanging out to observe for yourself.

Here are some pics from what I call the occupy village, they have been there for about 2-3 weeks now.
It was all love in there, everyone is nice. Even though there are tv cameras and tons of people like me just roaming around taking picutres. . I met one of cooks as I was crossing the street. Dude introduced himself and then HUGGED me. Caught me off guard. He was cool as balls and he showed me around. we kicked it for a minute then I headed up bunside to see what was going on over there.

When i told Sanitizer D that i got hugged by a strange cook that is living down there since the beginning, her lead in sentence is: "I hope that he was clean".Luckily for me during the hug he informed me that he had just came from the showers and was clean and super happy about it and i dont have to worry. at that moment we were all happy about it. Dude hadnt showered since saturday.

These pics are from the morning after the march. These were the faithful that stayed the night in the park.It rained all night long. It was wet and muddy but people were in high spirits. there was a food and water station. It looked like voodoo doughnuts made a donation also.
From what i could gather they were being told that they would no longer be able to stay in the area of Chapman Square across from city hall. At this point they were having a meeting to discuss what the next move should be.
they were to disperse at 10 am. i took my last shot at 9 and headed home.

This next set of pics are from the march which went down burnside and up broadway then stopped in pioneer square where everyone piled in. There was chanting and singing the whole way. It was totally peaceful. At this point my time had expired. My feet and legs hurt. I was sweaty and tired. It was time to get sweetheart D. so I left.
After the rally in pioneer square they continued the march down to the park across from city hall on second st. and clay which is where they were planning to post up and settle in for the long haul.

I was excited to get the camera out and walk among the masses for this one. Then i got sleepy.
I was just going to sleep this day away as it was my day off and i was tired.
Sweet D called me and put me on alert. She could see all the people assembling from her building across the river and it looked like something that I would be in the middle of and I had already told her that I would be down there snapping shots of the goings on.
So I got off my ass and I headed down to the water front park where they were getting hyped up for the occupy portland march.
Here is part one from the water front park .
from here they marched to pioneer square which will be part 2 (with video)
Later they then marched to the park located across the street from city hall and spent the night there.
They started with upwards of 5000 people. When I checked on them this morning there was only probably o 250 hardcore people that spent the night in the park and they were being told that they had to vacate the park by 10am.
I bounced at 9.

Police presence was at maximum levels. tons of resources used to cover the march..helicopters, horseback, bike cops and foot patrol.

here is the beginning of the march. i was down the street where i met a couple of dudes that were trying to get in the front as they had lost the party that they came here with. I believe the dudes name was justin. He and I took off on foot and power walked about 4 blocks so that we could get some pics and video from the beginning of the march. Shortly after that I lost them both.
