here is a review from IMBD...
It was very clear to me since the start that we were inside his head and he was imagining a lot of things. it just wasn't spelled out in obvious terms, because the film stays true to its convictions of being in his head. where it wouldn't be spelled out. period.
the reason he shows those violent scenes is because violence is terrible and we shouldn't be let off the hook. some people go to the movies to be entertained by mystery and plot. some people go to have a mirror held up to the world to show and remind us how ugly it is. this film is the latter. it reminds us that violence is horrifying, that just because something is bland and passive on the outside doesn't mean u have any f-ing idea what the hell is going on inside and that we should stop trying to identify with psychos because they are diseased and beyond our understanding. period.
if you don't like it, watch transformers. or up in the air.
