Yesterday Sweet D called me from work to remind me that Obama was in town to give a speech at the Convention Center and that since she works only 2 blocks from it that there would be traffic, protesters, streets blocked off, and a melting pot of crazy happening, meaning that i should get the camera and get down there to get some pics and make sure that we were able to get to pub quiz on time.
The scene was not as hectic as when Obama and Clinton came down in 08 and pretty much shut down all of downtown but it was crazy enough. I am not really political but being down there and listening to every ones gripes with this administration it only led me to believe that a lot of what they were mad about were things that Obama inherited when he came into office. The time he has been in office with all the initiatives that he has tried to push forth if you do not have a majority that will vote along party lines or have "bi-partisan" voting with the people in mind then you will not get much done. Then your words and slogans seem empty and creating a situation where the other party which was making it hard for you in the first place now have a platform to tear you down for not getting anything done. In my opinion they all serve their own interests and the interest of the people and or corporations that put money in their pockets and will say what they need to get what they want.
but enough of that here are some pics.

Portland, Oregon - President Obama was in Oregon Wednesday night, trying to drum up support for Democratic gubernatorial candidate John Kitzhaber. Thousands gathered at the Oregon Convention Center in downtown Portland to hear the President speak.
The President told the crowd that he wanted them to understand that the recession started long before he took office. Saying 4,000,000 jobs were lost in the six months before he was sworn in. President Obama said, "You would have thought that given that crisis, when we got to Washington, Democrats and Republicans would come together, put politics aside, and deal with this once in a generation challenge. I hoped, I expected that we would move beyond the game playing and partisan bickering, and get to work."
